Using the site
HistoryGuesser is an independently operated history and geography game. By using it you agree to these terms. Play is free; some features require an account, and some require a purchase. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at scale, circumvent access controls, or automate gameplay to manipulate scores, leaderboards or ratings.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. Accounts that are used to abuse the service — spam, harassment, manipulation of leaderboards, or repeated submission of inappropriate content — may be suspended. You can ask for your account and its data to be deleted at any time by emailing felixkrabba@gmail.com.
Purchases, credits and Pro
Payments are handled by Stripe; card details never reach this site. Credits are used to generate custom maps and are consumed when a generation runs. A Pro subscription removes ads and renews until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep access for the period you have paid for. Prices and credit amounts can change for future purchases. If a purchase fails to deliver what it should, email the address above and it will be sorted out.
Content you create
You keep ownership of the maps, ratings and comments you submit, and you grant HistoryGuesser permission to host and display them within the game. Do not submit content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, deliberately misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights. Submissions are reviewed before they enter public rotation, and anything that does not fit can be edited out or removed.
Historical content and reconstructions
Panoramas in the game are largely AI-generated reconstructions of historical moments rather than photographs, and the accompanying notes are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication. Together they are intended for education and entertainment and may contain inaccuracies. Do not rely on them as a source of record; check a primary or scholarly source for anything that matters. Advertising
The site shows advertising, including through Google AdSense. How that works, and the choices you have, is described in the privacy policy.
Availability and changes
HistoryGuesser is an independent project provided as-is. Modes, scenes and features change over time, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. These terms may be updated; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated version.
