Nineteen documented moments, one hundred years, and the shortest gaps in the library. The 20th-century round starts twelve seconds off the ground at Kitty Hawk in 1903 and ends at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984, taking in the San Francisco earthquake, the Titanic, the storming of the Winter Palace, the Model T line at Highland Park, Lindbergh landing in Paris, the Wall Street Crash, Christ the Redeemer going up over Rio, V-J Day in Times Square, the Berlin Wall, the March on Washington, the Gateway Arch, Woodstock, the Beatles on a rooftop and the Abbey Road crossing.
Three of those happened in 1969 alone — the rooftop concert in January, Abbey Road in August, Woodstock the same month. This is the era where 'which of these happened first?' stops being about centuries and starts being about months, and where a streak is worth the most, because there are enough questions in the pool to keep one alive.

Trivia rewards recall; the panorama game rewards observation. These are the cues that work in both — the details that pin a scene from this era to a century, and often to a decade.
Brass-era open bodies and spoked wheels are pre-1915. Upright closed cabs with running boards run through the 1920s and 30s. Wraparound chrome and fins mean the 1950s, and the boxy, low-slung shapes of the 1970s look nothing like either. One parked car usually dates a street scene to within a decade.
Grainy monochrome dominates before the 1940s. Saturated, slightly warm colour with heavy contrast is 1950s–60s Kodachrome. Flat, faded colour with a green cast is the 1970s. The look of the image is itself evidence.
By the 1960s a crowd contains hundreds of small handheld cameras; by the 1980s, camcorders on shoulders. Earlier crowds are hats — near-universal until the 1950s, when men's headwear collapses almost overnight and a bare-headed crowd becomes normal.
