How to read a Peruvian scene

Peru is three countries stacked by altitude: a rainless desert coast, a high Andean spine of terraces and stone, and jungle behind it. Inca masonry, colonial arcades and adobe are the three building traditions, and they rarely mix.

    Architecture

Mortarless polygonal stone with slightly inclined walls and trapezoidal doorways is Inca, 1440–1533 — and often forms the base of a colonial wall built on top. Whitewashed arcades with carved wooden balconies are Spanish colonial, 1540–1800. Adobe pyramids eroded into ridges are pre-Inca coastal cultures.

    Landscape

Grey sand desert running straight into the Pacific with no vegetation is the coast — it effectively never rains there. Terraced green slopes above 3,000 m with eucalyptus are the sierra. Cloud forest on knife ridges means the eastern Andean flank around Machu Picchu.

    Period tells

Llamas as pack animals appear in every century; wheels appear in none before the Spanish. Baroque church façades in soft volcanic sillar stone are Arequipa, post-1600. Earthquake-damaged colonial towers rebuilt shorter are common after 1650, 1746 and 1970.

    Build a Peruvian round yourself

You don't need a photograph or a map reference. Name a moment — "Caral's pyramids in use, Supe valley, north-central coast" — and the builder fills in the year, drops the pin, writes the factoid and paints a 360° scene you can stand inside. Publish it and it joins this collection for everyone.

    1. Step 1

      Name the moment

One line is enough — an event, a place, a year you half-remember. Or let the AI draft five moments around a theme.

    2. Step 2

      Auto-fill the history

The year, the exact coordinates and a one-sentence factoid come back filled in. Everything stays editable.

    3. Step 3

      Generate the scene

A 4K 360° panorama of that place in that year, ready to spin around inside the game.
