War & Battles History Guesser

War & Battles drops you onto the ground where history was decided — a besieged city wall, a landing beach at dawn, a trench line, a surrender in a railway carriage. Read the weapons, uniforms and fortifications, then place it and date it.

How the war & battles rounds work

Every round is a 360° reconstruction of a real, dated moment of conflict. Scenes are illustrative and avoid gore; the point is the setting, not the violence.

Military technology is one of the clearest clocks in the library. Pikes, muskets, rifled artillery, barbed wire, tanks and helicopters each mark out an era, and fortifications change shape with every new kind of gun.

How to read a war & battles scene

Every round is solvable without knowing the event. These are the details experienced players check first, roughly in the order they narrow the answer down.

Weapons
Spears and shields are ancient or medieval; pikes and early guns 1500–1700; neat ranks of muskets 1700–1850; machine guns and barbed wire from 1914.
Uniforms
Bright coats and tall hats mean the age of muskets. Khaki and field grey arrive around 1900–1915; camouflage patterns are mostly after 1940.
Fortifications
Tall thin stone walls are medieval. Low angled star forts answer cannon from the 1500s. Concrete bunkers belong to the 20th century.
Machines
Horses and wooden ships before 1850; ironclads and railways after; tanks from 1916, aircraft overhead from the First World War onward.

Questions

What is a War & Battles history run?
A five-round game of HistoryGuesser dealt only from battles, sieges and other moments of war. You look around each 360° scene, pin it on the world map and set the year.
Is it free?
Yes. You can play without an account; signing in keeps your XP, streak and match history.
How is it scored?
Each round is worth up to 5,000 points — half for how close your pin lands, half for how close your year guess is. Five rounds make a run, so 25,000 is perfect.
Do I need to know the history already?
No. Every round is solved by reading the scene — the buildings, the clothes, the technology and the landscape — not by remembering names.
