      Construction of the Stuttgart TV Tower

      The Fernsehturm Stuttgart was the first telecommunications tower in the world to be built from reinforced concrete. Its pioneering design became the global prototype for modern broadcasting towers.

      While experimenting with electrical currents in a darkened laboratory, physicist Wilhelm Röntgen noticed a nearby screen glowing. He had discovered X-rays, an achievement that earned the first Nobel Prize in Physics.

      Signing of the Weimar Constitution

      To avoid the violent post-war uprisings gripping Berlin, the National Assembly convened in Weimar's theater. Here, delegates successfully drafted the democratic constitution that founded Germany's first republic.
